Zao Make-Up is a make-up brand owned by Cosm’Etika France. It was co-founded in 2012 by four friends, David Reccole, Philippe Donnat, Yvan Rouvier and Salima Macozzi Reccole. Lovers of nature and aware of the impact of our consumption on the environment, the 4 friends chose to develop a brand of organic makeup in accordance with their deep values. They gave birth to Zao Make-Up, the first rechargeable make-up brand, 100% natural and certified organic by Ecocert.

The inspiration came from Asian countries for which one of the founders, David Reccole has always been passionate about. Traveller by nature, he has travelled to India, Vietnam and China …

The idea was born from a Taiwanese friend who one day offered him a box containing a mechanical pencil and a bamboo pen. Seeing these two cylindrical objects with such thin walls, he had a brain wave! If it is possible to make a pen, it is conceivable to create lipsticks and other bamboo makeup packaging. On his return from Asia, the 4 friends were conquered by the idea and the adventure of Zao began …

Zao Make-Up est une marque de maquillage détenue par Cosm'Etika France. Il a été cofondé en 2012 par quatre amis, David Reccole, Philippe Donnat, Yvan Rouvier et Salima Macozzi Reccole. Amoureux de la nature et conscients de l'impact de notre consommation sur l'environnement, les 4 amis ont choisi de développer une marque de maquillage biologique en accord avec leurs valeurs profondes. Ils ont donné naissance à Zao Make-Up, la première marque de maquillage rechargeable, 100% naturelle et certifiée biologique par Ecocert.

L'inspiration est venue de pays asiatiques pour lesquels David Reccole a toujours été passionné par l'un des fondateurs. Voyageur de nature, il a voyagé en Inde, au Vietnam et en Chine...

L'idée est née d'un ami taïwanais qui lui a offert un jour une boîte contenant un crayon mécanique et un stylo en bambou. En voyant ces deux objets cylindriques aux parois si fines, il avait une onde cérébrale ! S'il est possible de fabriquer un stylo, il est concevable de créer des rouges à lèvres et d'autres emballages de maquillage en bambou. À son retour d'Asie, les 4 amis ont été conquis par l'idée et l'aventure de Zao a commencé...
